Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the JotJive mobile application (the "App") handles information when you use it on your Android device. JotJive is developed and published on Google Play by TriCode Studio ("we", "us", or "our").

JotJive is an offline-first app. Your voice recordings, notes, todos, moods, and topics are stored only on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive, host, or process your content.

1. The Short Version

2. Information the App Handles Locally

JotJive stores the following information on your device only, inside the App's private internal storage (sandboxed to the App):

2.1 Voice journals ("Jives")

2.2 Notes & todos ("Jots")

2.3 Preferences

All of the above is persisted in a local SQLite database (via Android Room) and local preference files. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or shared with us or any third party.

3. Permissions We Request

JotJive requests the following Android permissions, used only for the purposes described:

4. Data We Do Not Collect

JotJive does not collect, request, or transmit any of the following:

5. Network Access

JotJive does not request the INTERNET permission and does not make network calls. Your content cannot leave your device through the App.

6. Third-Party Services

JotJive does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or backend service that processes your personal data.

7. Children's Privacy

JotJive is suitable for general audiences. Because the App does not collect any personal information from anyone, it likewise does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Because everything is stored locally, you control retention and deletion:

Note: If you have enabled Android's system-level auto-backup (Google Drive backup), the operating system may back up app data to your personal Google account on your behalf. This is controlled entirely by Android and your Google account settings, not by JotJive. You can disable auto-backup in Android system settings.

9. Security

Your data is stored in the App's private internal storage, which Android isolates from other apps on the device. We recommend keeping your device updated and protected with a screen lock for additional security.

10. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or process personal data, we do not hold any data that could be the subject of a data-subject access, correction, or deletion request. You retain full control over your content on your device at all times.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the App's listing or release notes where appropriate.
